Organization Development

The path to a culture that embraces and fosters competitive superiority

Organization development services of The Mickus Group focus
on two distinct levels of an organization.  At the highest level,
our professional consultants focus on providing consulting
assistance to Chief Executives, Board Chairs,
Board Members and Senior Management Team
members in the performance of
their respective roles.

The objective of The Mickus Group consultants is
to help leaders of an organization seek creative solutions
to difficult issues, manage the process of change,
evolve new leaders to ensure management continuity,
and maximize operational effectiveness.

At the second level of our focus, The Mickus Group will work with members of the management team within functions, departments and areas that may require team-building development, specific skill building assistance, or interventions for team members due to interdepartmental behavioral or operational issues related to work performance and/or employee and labor relations issues.

Change Management

Since change is often a major or contributing factor to employee unrest and potential union vulnerability, as well as an essential reality for all companies in today's challenging economy, The Mickus Group is particularly tuned in to change management within its client organizations.  Our Firm has assisted many clients with their change management process to ensure appropriate inclusion, input, communication, implementation, and reinforcement efforts.  Our objective in providing change management assistance to our clients is to ensure that, when properly managed, "change" will lead to improved business performance and an organization that "embraces" change as the key to overall competitive superiority and improved individual performance.

Performance Assessment Systems

Due to the critical role of performance assessment in employee relations, The Mickus Group has extensive experience in the field of employee performance evaluation and assessment systems.  In many instances, it is not the performance assessment system that does not work, it is the manner in which it is being administered at the first and second levels of management.  Unclear or poorly communicated performance expectations and standards, effective follow-up steps, or the lack of timely efforts by members of the management team can defeat even a well-designed system.  At times, managers and supervisors fail to recognize the difference between performance and other behavior related issues of employees, or simply lack the right policies, process, or skills to deal effectively with each.  This same situation can often affect employees as well when they do not fully understand job expectations and performance standards, or other "punishable" infractions and how that relates to their job evaluation and compensation.  However, we also recognize that on occasion the performance assessment system is not designed in a way that achieves an on-going process to improve employee performance issues.

Regardless the source of performance assessment concerns, or a company's desire to implement an effective system when none exists, the benefit of our knowledge is available to clients seeking to improve an existing system or develop a new assessment system for the organization.

Unique Organizational Needs

Organization leaders often knows that when issues continue to come up, "something is wrong" and needs to be corrected -- whether leaders can specifically identify exactly what is the cause of the problem or not.  Based on an assessment of the issues and behaviors, The Mickus Group can develop an appropriate intervention strategy, or in some cases, may refer a client to one of several specialized consultants with specific expertise based on the situation.  Our goal is to ensure that our clients’ needs in every situation are addressed by the best possible resources available to them.

The Mickus Group offers a variety of services in support of client needs and objectives:

  • Cross-function and Cross-departmental Relationship Building
